Exploring Wat Kate's Heritage & Beyond with HIM!

Hospitality Industry Management students put theory into practice on April 5th, 2025, during their "Go Beyond the Classroom: A Tourism and Service Journey" (HIM 131 & HIM 234) in the Wat Kate cultural community.
They discovered the historical significance at the "Doctor Prince Museum: the spiritual inspiration of a historic house" on McCormick campus and learned about missionary influence at the First Church of Chiang Mai. Notably, they also connected with Mr. Phillips Ray, the inspiring Founder and owner of Zinme Teahouse, a young entrepreneur from Myanmar, gaining firsthand insights into building a business in the local tourism and service industry. This experiential field trip effectively bridged classroom theory with the real-world dynamics of culture, history, and entrepreneurship in Chiang Mai's tourism and service sector.
